Throughout 6 classes - held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:30 PM in Bell Works - you will learn the core principles + foundation of Pilates, get acquainted with the Apparatus, and build a healthy, strong Pilates body!

Developed to teach the fitness novice the Pilates principles, anatomical language, and essential exercises necessary to build proper core strength, flexibility, and overall awareness using the spring coil and retractable rope system of all pieces of Apparatus, including the reformer, tower, and chair. Anatomical principles, proper technique, breath, and abdominal engagement are emphasized while performing a progressive repertoire in a group of up to 8 students. Here’s your opportunity. What is Pilates?

 

We offer an extensive Pilates & functional movement program for all individuals from the avid commuter, everyday mam or man, retiree, top performer, professional athlete or thrill seeker. Class levels range from essential to athletic advanced. Beginner workshops are offered on a monthly basis.

The Fitness + Wellness space is equipped with 8 V2 Max Plus Reformers (most diverse at market) that facilitates limitless exercise possibilities and is the premiere tool for sports-specific rehab and cross training movement as well as the classical Pilates repertoires.

Pilates is an exercise method designed to condition and connect body and mind, correct muscle imbalances, improve posture, and tone the muscles of the entire body. Its' unique system of exercises can be practiced on a mat (against your own body weight) or on several different pieces of spring resistance machines known as the Apparatus.  

In addition to completely firming the abdominal wall and realigning the spine back to its neutral posture and state, Pilates helps to strengthen and stretch the entire body and has been proven to transform the physiques of those who practice in a short period of time. The Pilates method combines these exercises with mental concentration and breath work. The result is a mind body fitness program that helps you to create your most optimal physique. 

One the most interesting aspects of Pilates is that anyone can do it, and everyone can achieve optimal results. Since there is no bouncing, jarring, or stress to the body, Pilates offers the ideal form of exercise for people who, because of joint pain or muscle weakness, shy away from exercise.
